'The Magpies' put five past 'The Centurions'.

Evo Stik Southern League 2017/18

West Division

Wimborne Town   5 – 1   Cirencester Town

Cirencester made an early start to travel to Wimborne Town and failed to cope with the difficult pitch conditions to concede five goals.

The home side were lively from the start but it took until the 32nd minute to open the scoring as Louis Kellaway burst into the Cirencester penalty area and squared the ball past an advancing Matt Wieczorek for LEE FRANCIS to finish from a few yards.

Wimborne doubled their tally six minutes later as Ben Walker blocked a Wieczorek clearance and won the race to the rebound to square it to a supporting JACK LOVELL for another 'tap-in' from a couple of yards.

Five minutes after the interval Cirencester pulled a goal back after they had worked the ball down the left before crossing into the box. The home side headed clear for Mike Pook to lob back in to the front edge of the 6 yard box where ALAN GRIFFIN managed to get his toe to the ball and loop it over 'keeper Gerard Benfield into the top corner.

Encouraged Cirencester pressed for the next ten minutes and Aidan Bennett struck the bottom of the post but Wimborne sent a long clearance to the corner where Luke Burbidge collected and fed Lovell. The ball was squared to reach LLOUIS KELLAWAY who finished from a few yards.

Eight minutes later Wimborne scored again as Burbidge worked his way into the box and slipped the ball to JACK LOVELL who fired under an advancing Wieczorek from a narrow angle.

As the game entered the final 10 minutes Burbidge cut in from the left and despite a few tackles the ball broke back into his path enabling him to send it to CHARLIE KENDALL who drove it inside the right post to complete the scoring.
