Cirencester return from Southampton empty handed despite dominant first half performance.
Evo Stik Southern League 2017/18
West Division
AFC Totton 2 – 1 Cirencester Town
Cirencester were on the road again for their third away match on the bounce as they travelled to Southampton to face AFC Totton.
The Centurions dominated play during the first half but failed to score the goals their play warranted and whilst TOMMY ANDERSON scrambled the ball home – his first for the Club – towards the end of the half the home side equalised from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time through CRAIG FEENEY.
A more focussed home side returned after the interval and CRAIG FEENEY gave his side the lead nine minutes after the interval.
In the closing minutes Ben Whitehead struck the underside of the cross-bar but the home side held on to their lead to take the points.
After the match home ‘keeper Shane Murphy was awarded the Man of the Match for his excellent performance during the first half as he almost single-handedly held off Cirencester.
