'On loan' goal-keeper scores for Paulton Rovers in 'added-time' to secure a replay in the FA Trophy at The Corinium Stadium.
The Buildbase FA Trophy
1st Round Qualifying
Paulton Rovers 2 – 2 Cirencester Town
Cirencester returned to Paulton Rovers five weeks after their league success for this FA Trophy match and led twice before being held with an ‘added-time’ headed goal from ‘keeper Alhaji Sesay who is on loan from Bristol City.
The visitors began confidently taking the game to their hosts and opened the scoring mid-way into the first half with a firm shot inside the right post from BEN WHITEHEAD after good work from Henry Spalding. 0-1.
The home side pressed but were unable to break through a stubborn Cirencester defence until just after the hour when Josh Morgan-Williams reached the by-line and his low cross was deflected into his own net by Jordan Stoddart for an OWN GOAL. 1-1.
Five minutes later BEN WHITEHEAD restored the lead for Cirencester when he rifled another right footed shot inside the right post after a fine through ball from Jack Horrell created the opportunity. 1-2.
Paulton were awarded a corner kick in ‘added-time’ and with nothing to lose ‘keeper ALHAJI SESAY advanced to the penalty area and it was he who headed into the net to secure a replay at Cirencester. 2-2.
