Cirencester lose by the 'odd goal in three' for the fourth time this season.
Evo Stik Southern League 2017/18
West Division
Cirencester Town 1 – 2 Larkhall Athletic
Cirencester faced Larhall Athletic for their second game in four days and once again lost by the odd goal – with the winner being scored in the 83rd minute.
The visitors mounted early pressure on the home defence but it was Cirencester who opened the scoring after 8 minutes with a deft ‘back-header’ from BEN WHITEHEAD.
The home side held onto the lead despite increased pressure from their visitors until the 63rd minute when a powerful GEORGE KING header found the back of the net.
Shortly afterwards Matt Jones nearly regained the lead as he crashed his shot against the left post.
As the game entered the final ten minutes Larkhall’s ALEX LAMBERT also struck the frame of the goal but his effort rebounded off the underside of the cross-bar into the net to give his side the lead and ultimately victory.
