Cirencester knocked out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle.
EMIRATES FA CUP
Preliminary Round
Aylesbury 2 – 1 Cirencester Town
Cirencester travelled to face Southern League - East Division side Aylesbury in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup and conceded a goal in the first minute as a shot by DAVIS HAULE looped into the net following a cross from the left flank.
The home team pressed their advantage and put Cirencester under pressure for most of the first half - adding a second at the mid-point when a flowing move from within their own half was finished by HARRY SCOTT from the edge of the Cirencester penalty area.
At the interval Cirencester introduced Henry Spalding, in place of Adam Connolly who had sustained a knock, and his close control and running livened the game up for Cirencester who began to ask questions of the home side.
As the game entered the final ten minutes Cirencester worked the ball down their right flank and created space for BEN WHITEHEAD to produce a clinical finish into the top left corner.
Encouraged Cirencester pressed forward but were unable to add a second.
