SAM WALSH nets three as Cirencester score seven against Cheltenham Town U23's.

Pre-Season Friendly

Cirencester Town   7 – 1   Cheltenham Town U23’s

Cirencester hosted Cheltenham Town U23’s on the former Academy pitch as work on the new 3G pitch and surrounding area in the stadium is not yet complete.

The heavy rain produced a slick playing surface encouraging the precise passing and movement that both sides displayed.

Cirencester opened the scoring after 8 minutes when MATT COUPE headed home a free kick at the near post.

SAM WALSH added two more with a calm finish inside the right post and a superb volley on the turn that flew into the top left corner.

Minutes before the interval JAMES MORTIMER-JONES converted a penalty kick to give Cirencester a 4-0 lead.

SAM WALSH completed his hat-trick from close range following a corner kick and HENRY SPALDING made it six with a driving run and precise finish.

With eight minutes remaining JORDAN STODDART headed home from near the penalty spot and Cheltenham’s GEORGE LLOYD scored a consolation goal two minutes later.
