Kings Langley 1 - 0 Cirencester Town
Cirencester travelled to Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, for the final league match of the season requiring victory to stand any chance of remaining in the Premier Division next season.
The home side also needed maximum points from the fixture to ensure their survival so it was always going to be a tight match.
During the first half Kings Langley looked the more dangerous through the speedy Jerry Amoo on their left flank and it was he who provided the cross that led to their goal as he darted down the wing to send a low cross from the side edge of the Cirencester penalty area past the advancing Glyn Garner towards the far post where STEVE WARD made ground to finish from a couple of yards. 1-0.
Cirencester had had a couple of attempts at the Kings Langley goal but it remained intact at the interval.
The home side started strongly during the early minutes of the second half but Cirencester began to press so that their hosts had to rely on counter attacks.
Despite having a lot of possession the visitors were unable to break through a stubborn home rear-guard and as a result Kings Langley secured the points they required to confirm they will perform in the Premier Division next season.
