Stratford continue unbeaten away form with victory at The Corinium Stadium.
Cirencester Town 1 – 2 Stratford Town
Stratford Town, who are unbeaten on the road so far this season in the league, were the latest visitors to The Corinium Stadiium for this midweek league fixture and they maintained their record with a 2-1 victory over their hosts.
The home side started brightly as they moved the ball about during the first 15 minutes but gradually Stratford began to look more dangerous with their speedy forwards.
The visitors opened the scoring after 10 minutes, somewhat fortuitously, when a JAMIE SHELDON shot from the front edge of the Cirencester penalty area was deflected past Harvey Rivers as he moved in the opposite direction. 0-1.
Cirencester equalised six minutes before the interval with a well taken goal from AIDAN BENNETT who received the ball with his back to goal, controlled it and smashed it inside the left post as he turned. 1-1.
Moments after Harvey Rivers had made a terrific 1 v 1 save Stratford regained the lead as SIMEON TULLOCH volleyed a far post cross inside the near right post. 1-2.
Cirencester pushed forward in search of an equaliser and this enabled Stratford to counter attack with pace - particularly during the final minutes of the game.
