Late goal denies Cirencester three points at King's Lynn

King’s Lynn Town   1 - 1 Cirencester Town

Despite the long journey Cirencester started positively and took the game to their hosts and during the first quarter of the match Aidan Bennett provided openings for both Ollie Knight and Ross Langworthy but the home side survived.

King’s Lynn had opportunities but on the occasions they got through the Cirencester defence they found Harvey Rivers on good form to deny them - especially one superb save 25 minutes into the game as he pushed a shot destined for the top right corner round his left post.

After the interval Cirencester once again started confidently as they passed the ball about working it forward but King’s Lynn gradually put them under increasing pressure so that Cirencester had to rely on counter attacks.

Midway through the half one such attack found ROSS LANGWORTHY in the left channel of the home penalty area. He cut back to his right and fired a low shot inside the right post to open the scoring.  0-1.

The setback resulted in increased pressure from King’s Lynn but Cirencester were in determined mood and it took until the 90th minute for the home side to equalise as a long ball into the box was headed out and LEON METTAM latched onto it to drive it inside the right post. 1-1.

An additional five minutes was played but neither side could add to their tally.
