First home win for new Management Team moves the Centurions two places up the table.

Cirencester Town   2 – 0   Dunstable Town

Cirencester secured their first home win for the new Management Team with victory against high-flying Dunstable Town and as a result move up to 18th place in the Southern League – Premier Division table.

The home side opened the scoring after 8 minutes when KIEREN DIAZ-BENITEZ nipped in at the back post to volley home an Adam Connolly cross from the left flank.

A couple of minutes later Harvey Rivers produced a good save, low to his left, to save a powerful strike from Andrew Phillips to prevent the visitors levelling.

Despite playing up the slope Dunstable were doing most of the pressing with Cirencester counter attacking and one such attack, as Elijah Chilekwa sped down the left channel, came to an abrupt end on half way when Gedeon Okita mistimed his tackle bringing the progress of the Cirencester player to a halt - resulting in a Red Card for Okita.

With the extra man advantage Cirencester were able to put pressure on their visitors after the interval but Dunstable had not given up and as the game entered the last ten minutes they won a series of free kicks as Cirencester became nervous. Danny Talbot fired one of these from 30 yards towards the top left corner of the home goal where Rivers pulled off a terrific save to keep it out.

With 5 minutes remaining Cirencester worked the ball down their left flank to Sindri Scheving and his cross reached JAMES DIFFORD who finished inside the left post.
