Cirencester through to 2nd Round Qualifying of The FA Cup.

Gillingham Town 0 - 2 Cirencester Town

Cirencester made the journey to Dorset to face Gillingham Town, who play in the Toolstation Westen League Premier Division, in the First Round Qualifying of The Emirates FA Cup.

Cirencester nearly opened the scoring after 8 minutes when a series of passes on the right resulted in a cross to the far post where Charlie Griffin's header was saved low down as Jamie Beale dived to his right to push it round his post.

At the midpoint of the half some neat build-up play created space for a Matt Liddiard shot that struck the left post and thirteen minutes later Liddiard intercepted an attempted pass-back to the  home ‘keeper but fired wide of the right post.

Cirencester had dominated most of the first half but could not find the final touch to open the scoring but within the first few minutes of the second half Gillingham had defended several attempts on their goal and it seemed it was only a matter of time before Cirencester would open their account and sure enough in the 53rd minute the ball was worked to ROSS LANGWORTHY on the left and he cut back to send a curling effort inside the right post. 0-1.

Cirencester continued to press and in added time were rewarded when AIDAN BENNETT latched onto the ball after a couple of efforts from his team mates had been blocked and drove it inside the left post to double the score.  0-2.
