The Rebels defeat The Centurions at The Corinium Stadium to go 2nd in the table.

Cirencester Town  1 - 3  Slough Town

Slough Town, who prior to the match were in 5th place in the Premier Division table, visited The Corinium Stadium and displayed the reason why they are at the top end of the table with a complete performance to defeat their hosts by 3 goals to 1.

The Rebels opened the scoring as early as the 4th minute when GAVIN JAMESlatched onto a ball down the right channel of the home penalty area and finished inside the left post. 0-1.

The goal gave them a platform and confidence to play positive football as it put Cirencester on the ‘back-foot’ - although the home side did create a couple of openings as the half was drawing to a close but failed to convert them.

Slough started the second half in positive fashion and the Cirencester defence was put under immense pressure and against the run of play the home side levelled asCHARLIE GRIFFIN intercepted a ‘back-pass’, rounded the charging ‘keeper, and tucked the ball inside the far left post from a very narrow angle.  1-1.

Four minutes later Slough restored their lead after a counter attack and a cross-field pass picked out LEWIS PUTMAN in space in the left channel of the Cirencester penalty area and he calmly placed his shot inside the far right post. 1-2.

With ten minutes remaining Slough completed the scoring when the ball was crossed from the by-line to the far left post where GAVIN JAMES headed home off the inside of the post.  1-3.

Cirencester had a couple of chances during the last few minutes but Slough held firm.
