Cirencester return with a point from Dorchester.

Dorchester Town 2 - 2 Cirencester Town

Cirencester travelled to Dorset for a mid-week match against Dorchester Town who have not made the best of starts to the new season having lost all their games to date.

'The Magpies' kicked off in perfect conditions but it was their visitors who settled into the game very quickly and opened the scoring via the penalty spot when Matt Liddiard was tripped in the area as he latched onto a loose ball. CHARLIE GRIFFIN stepped up to tuck the spot kick inside the right post.  0-1.

Cirencester were looking composed and moving the ball about the pitch with ease and somewhat against the run of play Dorchester scored an equaliser on the half hour. Tony Lee struck a free kick, from just outside the Cirencester penalty area, against the cross-bar and when it was cleared it fell to David Jerrard who sent it back into the box for NATHAN WALKER to direct it inside the right post. 1-1.

The early stages of the second half were fairly even but it was Dorchester who took the lead when DAVID JERRARD placed a low shot inside the left post following a series of passes on their right flank. 2-1.

Cirencester equalised 6 minutes later when ROSS LANGWORTHY received the ball and made a neat turn in the right channel before tucking the ball inside the far post. 2-2.

During the last quarter both sides created openings as the game became end-to-end and in the last five minutes Dorchester struck the crossbar as they pressed for a winner but Cirencester came away with a well deserved point.
