Victory over Cirencester gives Redditch top spot.

Cirencester Town  0 – 2  Redditch United

Cirencester conceded two goals in the second half to high flying Redditch and this enabled the visitors to take over top spot on goal difference from Poole Town.

In a competitive evening fixture Redditch came out of the blocks very quickly and took the game to their hosts in the early stages showing why they are at the top of the table.  Cirencester defended resolutely and began to work their way into the game towards the end of the first half.

After the interval Cirencester continued where they had left off but just before the hour mark they conceded a goal on the counter attack as Redditch burst forward from deep in their half for JAZZ LUCKIE to score.

As Cirencester pushed forward in search of an equaliser the visitors scored again when ‘keeper Josh Langley parried a 30 yard shot and LUKE SHEARER was the quickest to react to finish from a narrow angle.

The home side continued to press but Redditch always looked dangerous on the break and in the final five minutes Langley made several fine saves to prevent Redditch adding to their tally.
