McDonald's donate kit to Cirencester Town and South Cerney juniors

LOCAL football clubs Cirencester Town and South Cerney F.C have been given a helping hand by the town's McDonald's franchisee Carl Room who has provided both clubs with brand new training equipment.

Room, who owns nine McDonald's restaurants (with two in the local area) provided Cirencester Town with both a new goalkeeper's kit as well as new waterproof training jackets to the U13's squad. He also supplied South Cerney's U10s with new training kits.

As a company, McDonald's also runs a community football programme which aims to encourage more people to get involved in the game either as players, supporters or coaches with kit and equipment.

Room said: "Both Cirencester Town and South Cerney F.C are great football clubs that are dedicated to helping young players from the area enjoy the game. I was really pleased to visit both clubs and see the teams in their new training gear. Both teams have a band of dedicated volunteers, helping to provide countless hours of football to the local community.

Sir Geoff Hurst, McDonald's Director of Football said, "Initiatives like the McDonald's Community Football Programme help clubs to provide the right facilities, training tools and kit so that they can continue to offer a great standard of grassroots football and coaching to the young people in their community."

"It is the help of franchisees like Carl Room that allows grassroots football clubs like Cirencester FC and South Cerney Football Club to flourish."
