Cirencester work hard to secure 3 points against Kettering after being reduced to ten men early in the second half.
Cirencester Town 1 – 0 Kettering Town
Cirencester produced the form that has recently been reserved for the FA Trophy in this league match against Kettering Town and were rewarded with the 3 points.
The first half was fairly frantic with both sides enjoying periods of possession but they were unable to open the scoring due to solid defending. Kettering had a penalty appeal rejected after 17 minutes and mid-way through the half the home side lost central striker Charlie Griffin with a hamstring injury and had to adjust their formation.
Cirencester suffered a further setback 6 minutes after the interval when Ellis Dunton was issued with a straight Red Card but they displayed incredible resilience to keep Kettering at bay and scored a superb goal when ROSS LANGWORTHY headed home at the back post following good work from Zack Kotwica on the right flank.
With a goal advantage to defend Cirencester worked their socks off and even though Kettering inevitably used their extra man to retain possession they were unable to break down a team that refused to be beaten.
