Cirencester lose by odd goal in five to in-form Hungerford.

Cirencester Town   2 – 3   Hungerford Town

Cirencester returned to league action following their successful exploits in the FA Trophy last week and lost to in-form Hungerford by the odd goal in five after taking the lead early in the second half.

In difficult conditions due to the strong diagonal wind Hungerford opened the scoring in the 16th minute when former Centurion NAT JARVIS headed home from 8 yards.

Five minutes later the home side equalised as JAMES MORTIMER-JONES struck a superb left footed volley into the top right corner of the net from the edge of the penalty area.

Cirencester continued to press for the remainder of the half but were unable to increase their goal tally whilst Hungerford had to rely on counter attacks.

Three minutes after the interval Cirencester took the lead following a penalty kick that was initially saved but ROSS LANGWORTHY was first to react to finish from close range as the ball ran loose.

Hungerford equalised as the game entered the final quarter hour when STEFAN BROWN bundled the ball over the line from the edge of the 6 yard box.

Three minutes later NAT JARVIS darted across the front edge of the 6 yard box to head a cross from the left inside the near post to secure the 3 points for his team.
