Cirencester held by an 'in-form' Cambridge City.
Cirencester Town 1 - 1 Cambridge City
Cirencester returned to league action with a home fixture against Cambridge City who are in a good run of form.
The first half was a scrappy affair with the wind making control difficult for both sides. Ross Langworthy and Ellis Dunton had early chances for Cirencester and Adam Murray one for Cambridge. With the wind behind them Cirencester enjoyed more of the ball and put their visitors under pressure and as a result Cambridge had to rely on counter attacks but the half ended all square.
Cirencester made the perfect start to the second half when OLLIE KNIGHT scored three minutes after the interval with a composed finish into the top left corner from the edge of the penalty area.
The Cambridge response was fairly immediate as nine minutes later they blocked a Cirencester clearance and switched play to the right where IEUAN LEWIS tucked the ball inside the left post to level the score.
Despite plenty of effort and chances at both ends of the pitch neither side was able to score a winner.
