Injury-hit Cirencester defeated by slick Weymouth.

Cirencester Town   0  -  3   Weymouth

A depleted Cirencester, due to a lengthy list of injuries (6 players unavailable for selection), took on Weymouth and with plenty of endeavour managed to concede only one goal in the first period as BEN THOMSON scored a deflected goal with 7 minutes of the half remaining.

Playing with the advantage of the slope Cirencester took the game to their illustrious opponents after the re-start but suffered a further setback when JAKE WANNELL scored a wonder goal eight minutes after the break when he latched onto a headed clearance and struck a superb right footed volley from the left front corner of the penalty area that flew inside the right post.

The home side continued to push forward in an attempt to get into the game and had periods of possession but Weymouth always looked dangerous on the break as they moved forward quickly in numbers.

Their final goal came as a result of a break down their right flank and a pass inside for substitute CHRIS SHEPARD to score with his first touch.

Cirencester thought they had pulled a goal back a couple of minutes later when Charlie Griffin bundled the ball over the line but the Assistant Referee was flagging for an infringement.
