Gloucestershire Senior Challenge Cup - 1st Round

Cirencester Town   2  -  5   Bristol Rovers

A confident young Bristol Rovers side defeated the Centurions at the Corinium Stadium to knock their hosts and current holders of the County Senior Challenge Cup out of the competition at the first hurdle.

A sublime free kick from CRISTIAN MONTANO opened the scoring in the 9th minute and three minutes later he set up BILLY BODIN for the second goal.

Cirencester responded with a measured strike from OLLIE KNIGHT – his first senior goal for the Club – from the edge of the penalty area in the 17th minute.

Nine minutes into the second half CRISTIAN MONTANO  produced another excellent free kick to increase the lead and BILLY BODIN added a fourth four minutes later.

JOSH PARSONS pulled one back midway through the half and BLAKE DAVIES completed the scoring with 12 minutes remaining.
