Cirencester miss the chance to go top of the Southern League Premier Division with defeat at Stratford.

Stratford Town   2 – 1   Cirencester Town

A disappointing result – especially following the news that top of the table Chippenham Town had been held to a draw at Weymouth.

Cirencester had started the match brightly enough but lots of nice build up play led to nothing and Stratford opened the scoring just before the interval when an onrushing KIERAN WESTWOOD latched onto a loose ball to lash it into the net.

The home side increased their lead ten minutes after the break when DIOR ANGUS swivelled to fire home.

Cirencester reduced the arrears following some neat play between Kotwica, Langworthy and Hooper that created the opportunity for JOSH PARSONS to finish well.

In the closing stages Cirencester pushed forward to get a positive result but the home side held on to secure the points.
