Cirencester drop to third in the table following defeat at Slough Town.

Slough Town   1  -  0   Cirencester Town

A lack-lustre performance against Slough Town resulted in defeat for The Centurions on the road and as a result they drop to third in the league table.

After the success of the Bank Holiday weekend fixtures Cirencester were hoping to maintain their form and started well enough but Slough gradually wrestled the initiative from them to enjoy the majority of the possession in the first half.

Slough made the perfect start to the second half as within a couple of minutes CHARLIE MPI scored the only goal of the game as he charged down a clearance, chased after the loose ball and confidently  lobbed Glyn Garner  from 25 yards.

The Cirencester defence was then tested thoroughly as the home side looked to increase their lead but held firm whilst at the other end ‘The Rebels’ dealt with anything Cirencester had to offer and withstood the late barrage as their visitors searched for a goal.
