A second solid performance in three days resulted in Cirencester obtaining the three points against Merthyr Town to bring them level with table-topping Chippenham Town after seven games played.
In a hard fought, end-to-end contest of entertaining and committed football CHARLIE GRIFFIN scored the vital goal for The Centurions in the 82nd minute.

I really enjoyed visiting your ground again yesterday. A match that was always going to be decided by a single goal, I felt, due to the strength of both defences. A superb match report from your correspondent too. Best of luck for the rest of the season.
