Matt Liddiard has rejoined Gloucester City

Matt Liddiard has left the club to return to Gloucester City (writes Danny Hall in the Standard)

Box-to-box midfielder Liddiard, 22, has opted to return to his former club Gloucester City, who play one level higher than Cirencester in the Vanarama National League North.

Matt was an ever-present in the Cirencester side, helping us to become champions of the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South & West in 2013/14 and win last season’s Gloucestershire Senior Challenge Cup.

He was Players Player of the season for the 2014/15 campaign and Gloucester Manager Tim Harris  said he is "absolutely delighted" the Hartpury graduate has re-joined the side.

The talented young midfielder was thought of as a future club captain by boss Brian Hughes and indeed he captained the senior Hartpury College team to the British  niversities & College Sports Championship title earlier this year.

Matt's Cirencester career:

2013 - 2014 Apps 26 Goals 1

2014 - 2015 Apps 51 Goals 7

I am sure we all would like to thank Matt for his efforts over the last two seasons and wish Matt well for his future
