Arlesey deny Centurions victory in 125th Anniversary game

Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division

Cirencester Town 1 – 1 Arlesey Town

On Saturday, Cirencester Town celebrated our 125th Anniversary with a home match against Arlesey Town in front of a large crowd of 321 including numerous former players many of whom were attending their first Ciren match for a number of years.

Ciren dominated the early exchanges only to go behind on 11 mins after Zack Reynolds chased down a long ball over the Ciren defence to put Arlesey ahead.

A Nat Jarvis close range header just before half time from an excellent cross by Ian Herring levelled the scores. Ciren continued to press in the second half but were unable to score the winner against a determined Arlesey defence.

It was good to see so many former players at the match and in the clubhouse afterwards enjoying themselves and reminiscing on past glories.

A big thank you to Scott Griffin for all the hard work he put in organising the event.
