First Team win at Mangotsfield to go back to the top of the table

Calor League Division 1 South & West

Mangotsfield United 2 - 3 Cirencester Town

Cirencester Town visited Mangotsfield United who contained four former Centurions in their side: Kevin Sawyer, Neil Arndale, Matt Sysum, and Jamie Reid.

Ciren welcomed back Ben Wells to the starting lineup and on 35 mins he scored with a spectacular free kick to put Ciren ahead.

Steve Davies scored early in the second half to double Ciren's lead before Neil Arndale converted a penalty for Mangotsfield to reduce the arrrears.

Lee Smith then settled Ciren's nerves with a well-taken goal after 75 mins before Mangotsfield scored a second through Lewis Sommers just before the end of the match.

After this result and Merthyr's loss at Swindon Supermarine, Ciren are back at the top of the league table, three points ahead of both Merthyr and Tiverton (who won 2-0 at home to Guildford City) with all three teams having just two more matches to play in the regular season, excluding the Play Offs.

Next up for Ciren is a very difficult match at home against fifth placed Shortwood United this coming Easter Monday with a kick off of 3:00pm. Please come along and support the team.
