Ciren in impressive Calor League win at local rivals Shortwood

Calor League Division 1 South & West

Shortwood United 1 - 2 Cirencester Town

On Tuesday evening, Cirencester Town made the short journey to Shortwood United for a Calor League Division 1 South & West match.

Shortwood came into the match in fifth place in the league after only losing 1 match in the last 21 matches run and both sides were looking to win the match to maintain their Play Off ambitions.

Ciren took an early 2-0 lead through goals by Lee Smith om 18 mins and Joe Shepherd on 21 mins. Shortwood got a goal back through Duncan Culley on 76 mins but Ciren held out to come away with a deserved 2-1 victory.
