Two late goals secure deserved victory for Merthyr in top of the table clash

The Calor League – Division One South & West

 Merthyr Town 3 – 1 Cirencester Town

On Saturday Cirencester Town travelled to Merthyr in a top of the table match in the Calor League Division 1 South & West.

The first half was keenly contested with Merthyr going ahead through striker Kayne McLaggon before Cirencester rallied to equalise with a Mark Pritchett goal on 17 minutes.

Merthyr dominated the second half, but Ciren's defence held strong and looked as if they would hold out for a draw. However, Merthyr scored two late goals, a penalty from Kayne McLaggon on 85 minutes and he completed his hatrick a minute later to secure a deserved win for Merthyr.

On Tuesday evening, 4th March 2014, Ciren are at home to Clevedon Town. Come along and support the lads as they try to close the gap on Merthyr again in one of the three games in hand we have on the league leaders.
