Cirencester Town Under 13s continue their winning run in the Nerf Junior Premier League

Nerf Junior Premier League

Chippenham Town U13s 5 - 6 Cirencester Town U13s

On Saturday, away at Stanley Park, Cirencester Town's Under 13 Junior Premier League team continued their recent good run by beating long time “Nemesis” Chippenham Town Under 13s  6-5 in a fantastic display, and extend their unbeaten run to 6 matches. They have now won 4 and drawn 2 matches since their season opening day (only) defeat to Newport County.

Having never beaten a Chippenham side who have previously only lost 2 games over a  3 1/2 season span, this was a watershed win for the lads.

Having gone 3-1 down inside 15 minutes, the Ciren lads roared back at Chippenham playing some wonderful one and two touch football, and injecting a little more steel into the middle of the park.

Ciren dominated for long periods and took the score to 6-3 after an hour. Only some poor finishing, great goalkeeping, and the woodwork prevented the lead being further extended.

Chippenham scored some outstanding individual goals, but conversely Ciren scored a number of outstanding team goals, involving numerous team members passing quickly and incisively, and then finding a great finish.

The squad continues to grow in confidence and the performances are a great credit to the squad who had a difficult beginning, when only brought together two weeks before the start of last season and then thrown into a tough and demanding Junior Premier League season that was at times very challenging.

The squad, now in the Junior Premier League Cup Quarter Finals, are looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully extending their unbeaten run against local rivals Forest Green Rovers this coming Saturday in the Junior Premier League.
