Our Under 10s beat Avonvale to remain top of the league

Cotswold Youth League

Ciren Town U10s 6 - 0 Avonvale U10s

Avonvale spent the first 10 minutes camped in the Ciren half with some strong attacking play from the visitors.
A Luke Pennington corner broke the stale-mate for Ollie Claxton-Newman to get on the end of and score.
Pennington then found his way down the left wing to strike the ball full force at the keeper who just could not get it under control and ended up shovelling it in at the near post.
Philip Mclaughlin was menace to the Avonvale defence and after only 5 minutes of the second half played, found himself in front of goal, a fiery shot, the keeper spilt it into the path of Jonny Floyd who had an easy toe-poke to get his goal.
Only a minute later and Pennington turns provider with a great pass up the pitch into the path of Mclaughlin who ran onto it and fired wide of the keeper into the back of the net.
A great pass out from the Ciren defence to Mclaughlin, a bit of skill and the ball was in the back of the net for his second.
Ciren's final goal saw a great move by Ben Carter down the left wing who scored from an Avonvale deflection.

Man of the match: Philip Mclaughlin.
