Under 9s progress to League Cup Final

Cotswold Youth League Cup Semi Final

Cirencester Town U9s 7 - 0 Avonvale U9s

Tactically starting with the wind behind us, Cirencester blasted out of the blocks when Philip Mcloughlin was pushed to the corner but put in a great cross to find Aaron Burcham in the first minute 1-0.

Not a moment later straight from the kick off Ben Carter & Philip forged their way down the centre of the pitch and Ben found the net 2-0. Aaron then scored with only four minutes on the clock.

The game settled down for a long period of midfield play from both teams, Avonvale having chances but the defence and Rio Hart with some great goalkeeping keeping them out.

Ollie Claxton-Newman battled hard and found the net just before half-time and Ben pounced on the kick-off to find the net once more on the stroke of half time.

A free kick from Avonvale early in the second half saw Rio at full stretch pushing the ball over the bar to deny Avonvale a goal.

William Dyer fought hard down the right and showed not only what a good throw-in he has but also some excellent crosses one of which Luke Pennington pounced on 6-0.

Avonvale kept pushing but were denied at every turn and just before time Luke showed great skill down the left and crossed the ball in to Aaron to tap in his hatrick 7-0.

Cirencester now meet Painswick in the Final on Saturday morning at Sir William Romneys, Tetbury.

Rio Hart was Man of the Match.
