First Team outplay Evesham to win despite injury to keeper Hedges
Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division
Evesham United 2 - 3 Cirencester Town
On Easter Monday, our First team dominated play against Evesham United to record a well-deserved win despite losing keeper, Mike Hedges, to a hamstring injury at half -time.
Jody Bevan deputised in goal for Hedges, and Evesham quickly found the net twice to cancel out a 2-0 half-time lead for Ciren after Scott Griffin and Aiden Bennett had scored for Ciren.
However, from then on, our defence managed to protect Jody from any more scares and Ciren went on to totally outplay a surprisingly lacklustre Evesham side, considering the importance of the game to them, and it was no suprise when Ciren went ahead again on 60 minutes when Wayne Turk scored from a well-taken free kick.
