Under 9s top their group to progress in the cup
Cotswold Youth League Cup
Cirencester Town U9s 4 - 0 Painswick U9s
Cirencester started strongly, looking very comfortable on the ball, passing well in midfield through to Aaron Burcham at striker. Painswick fought hard and play was end-to-end for the opening spell before Ben Carter delivered a cross with inch-perfect-precision into the box with Aaron rushing in to head it in on 3 minutes.
Ollie Claxton-Newman pounced on the indecisive Painswick defence to make it 2 - 0.
Close to half-time Ben found his feet in the box, getting the ball on to his favoured left boot for 3-0. Painswick continued to battle hard in a close fought encounter with both goalies working hard with end to end action.
Painswick's goalie came out field in the second half with an excellent reputation and proved it from the whistle, carving Cirencester open only to be met by the solid defence.
Ben finished the score tally towards the end with a powerful shot from the left-hand side to finish 4-0.The scoreline didn't reflect just how tough and hard fought this game was, however Cirencester played some of the best passing football that they have played this season.
Man of the match went to the captain Ben Carter.
