Academy beat Hartpury College in ESFA Colleges Trophy
ESFA Under 18 Colleges Trophy
Cirencester Academy 3 - 0 Hartpury College
Our Football Academy beat Hartpury College last Wednesday in the English Schools FA Under 18 Colleges Trophy 4th Rd 3-0 at The Corinium Stadium to reach the last sixteen in this year's competition.
Cirencester produced a fantastic display against local rivals Hartpury, with goals from Danny Hale (2) and James Piatek.
Piatek opened the scoring after ball from Danny Roberts was laid off by Danny Hale to James Piatek, who camly beat the advancing Hartpury goalkeeper.
Danny hale then scored the goal of the game. Picking up the ball from 30 yards he beat two defenders before unleasing an unstoppable shot in to the top corner of the goal. Cirencester had further chances to increase their lead before half time but Hartpury defence held firm.
The second half saw Hartpury putting pressure on the Cirencester defence but Danny Hale made the game safe with a penalty after James Piatek was felled inside the box.
We now play Filton at home in the last sixteen of the competition in early January 2012.
