Under 9s in solid win at Malmesbury
Cotswold Youth League
Malmesbury Tornados U9s 0 - 7 Cirencester Town U9s
Cirencester started with a strong formation. Aaron Burcham started at striker, in for the missing Philip Mclaughlin and it wasn't long before he found himself on the score sheet. Malmesbury were strong in defence but Aaron kept on trying and was rewarded on his third attempt.
Aaron pounced on a goal keeper fumble to make it 2-0. Moments later the Malmesbury defence were found in disarray and Aaron found the net for a well deserved hatrick.
Flailing arms in the box cost Malmesbury a penalty and Captain Ben Carter stepped up to dispatch it. Jonny Floyd on at striker, found himself on the end of a good cross from Ben with an excellent finish.
Moments later, in what looked like an action replay Ben took the ball down the left, crossed in for Jonny again to find the back of the net to make it 6-0 going into the break.
Malmesbury seemed to have more confidence in defence in the 2nd half. The Malmesbury keeper was excellent and brave and when it looked like he would deservedly keep a clean sheet, Ben lobbed him with an accurate shot to finish off the goal tally.
Man of the Match went to Ben Carter
