FA Youth Cup Match Report

FA Youth Cup 1st Round Proper

Cirencester Town 3 - 1 Camberley Town

Scorers:  Joe Shepherd, Sam Farr & Danny Hale.


Cirencester took the lead after Captain Joe Shepherd headed the ball against the Camberley post before finishing from the rebound.

Despite creating a number of good opportunities, Cirencester failed to increase their lead before Camberley then had a player sent off just before half -time after bringing down James Piatek when he only had the goalkeeper to beat.

The second half began with captain Joe Shepherd having to be replaced through injury.

Despite being down to 10 men Camberley equalised after the Cirencester goalkeeper failed to clear a cross from the right.

Sam Farr restored Cirencester 's lead scoring a spectacular goal cutting inside on the edge of the box and curling the ball into the top corner of the goal.

Striker Danny Hale then ensured victory, picking up the ball 20 yards inside the Camberley half and ghosting past 3 defenders before slotting the ball in to the net to make the final score 3 - 1.

Cirencester now face Torquay United away in the 2nd Round Proper of the competition in a match due to be played suring w/c 19th November 2011. We will announce the exact date and time of thew match as soon as it has been agreed between thw two clubs.
