Match Report on FA Youth Cup Win at Larkhall
FA Youth Cup 3rd Round Qualifying
Larkhall Athletic 0 - 4 Cirencester Town
Scorers:Hooper, Glass (2), Hayden
On Monday 17th October 2011, Cirencester made the short journey to just outside Bath for this 3rd Round Qualifying match, with the winners hosting Camberley Town in the First Round Proper who won 3-2 away at Leatherhead on the same evening.
Cirencester began at an electrifying pace with wingers Josh Morse and Jacob Hayden looking very sharp. Cirencester’s midfield led by captain Joe Shepherd dominated the early play.
Brad Hooper gave Cirencester the kead after a five man move saw Sam Farr release Josh Morse, who crossed for Brad Hooper to smash the ball into the top of the Larkhall goal.
Centre Back Tom Glass then scored from a free kick from the half way line after the Larkhall goalkeeper misjudged the ball and it sailed in to the goal.
Larkhall rarely troubled the Cirencester goal such was there domination and Glaas scored his second goal with a fine header after a corner by Josh Morse.
The second half saw Larkhall constantly trying to get back in to the game, however it was Cirencester who should have increased their led on several occasions.
Finally with 10 minutes remaining Jacob Hayden scored the goal of the game after picking up the ball just outside the area and he beat two defenders before smashing the ball past the Larkhall goalkeeper.
