Keeper Swap
In the last 48 hours Cirencester Town goalkeeper Mike Green has joined Blue Square North side Gloucester City and former Gloucester City goalkeeper, 31 year old Kevin Sawyer has arrived at the Corinium Stadium.
Goalkeeping Coach Steve Hale commented:
“Obviously we are sad to see Greener leave us, in the short time he was with us he showed what a good young goalkeeper he is. He worked extremely hard in the sessions I had with him and had a great attitude and I think Gloucester City will be his next step before he gets back into the full time game over the next couple of years.
Having said that we are more than pleased that we have got Kevin Sawyer in his place.
Kev is an experienced goalkeeper who has won Player of the Year twice before at Cirencester Town in previous spells, has won the Southern Premier Division with Salisbury City and has played over 150 Conference North / South games. Having had my first session with him last night, he is already buzzing and looking forward to Saturday’s game with Chippenham Town.
We wish Greener well and at the same time are delighted to have Kev with us and look forward to working with him for the rest of the season."
