New Website Launch

Today (Saturday 6th August 2011) sees the launch of our new website, under the same website address.

This change involves the transferring of existing data from our old site over to a new Content Management System (CMS) which has many changes and improvements over the old CMS.

Inevitably this transfer has thrown up a number of formatting issues and other problems which could not really be resolved until we had transferred the data and gone "live" on the new system:

We have introduced a new "Player Statistics" page for our First Team and Development Team sections which provides summaries of League and Cup Appearances and Goals per player from data that has already been entered into the site. The existing CMS can't distinguish between league, cup and other matches and so initially all data is being displayed as being for league matches. I will be going through the data in the new CMS to correct this problem as quickly as possible.

The fonts for the different types of Headings and general text has changed in the new CMS, so again I will need to go through and change some fonts to optimise how they are displayed in the new site.

The Home page will display a short form of the First Team's league table with a link to the full league table. Unfortunately, we have not had time to get this link working before going "live" so this will have to be completed at a later date.

We have created Facebook and Twitter pages for Cirencester Town FC and we will be creating links from the website to these pages so that when a "News" item is entered onto the website, it will also appear on the Facebook and Twitter pages. However, these links may not be working initially and may have to be introduced later.

Finally, it looks like our Fans Forum is not working since the launch. We will try to sort out the problem ASAP.

We would be grateful if you could bear with us whilst we tackle the above issues and any other "teething" problems that emerge after going "live" with the new site.

We hope you enjoy the new site.
