Without doubt the "Big One" will be the arrival of our recently relegated neighbours Swindon Town after the appointment of the iconic figure Paulo Di Canio as their new manager.

For Di Canio this is his first job as a manager after a glittering playing career where he has seen service at clubs such as Lazio, Napoli, AC Milan and Roma in Italy along with Celtic in Scotland and in England wearing the shirt of Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton Athletic and most notably West Ham Utd where he earn't cult status scoring 48 goals in 118 appearances. Di Canio's playing career spanned 23 years and saw him make 527 appearances scoring 138 goals.

Many thought he may have been in line for the managers job at West Ham but instead he is cutting his managerial teeth at the County Ground so is sure to be desperate to make a success of his time in Wiltshire as he looks to build his CV. The game at the Corinium Stadium will be one of very few games fans will get chance to see him in charge of in this country before the season kicks off with Swindon due to play some of their friendlies in Italy at a week long training camp.

The game kicks off at the Corinium Stadium at 7.45pm on Monday 25th July with ticket prices £8.00 for adults and £5.00 for concessions.

The first friendly of the campaign see's Cirencester Town's other League Two neighbours Cheltenham Town arrive at the Corinium Stadium on Saturday 9th July 3.00pm Kick Off. Cheltenham finished just below halfway last season showing improvement on their previous season and will no doubt be looking to improve further still. They will also be gearing up for their Carling Cup fixture against MK Dons in early August and the game at the Corinium Stadium will be the first of their new campaign and the chance for their players to impress manager Mark Yates.

Former goalkeeper, Matt Bulman will be returning with his new side Forest Green Rovers at the Corinium Stadium on Monday 1st August 7.45pm Kick Off. After avoiding relegation from the Blue Square Premier Division last time round, Rovers will no doubt be looking to get off to a good start this time around. The summer has seen a number of personnel changes to the playing squad including along with Matt Bulman, regular goalscorer Charlie Griffin who has scored goals throughout his career at Woking, Newport County, Salisbury City, Stevenage and previously in his first spell at the New Lawn.

Away games have also been arranged at Hellenic League side Highworth Town, Southern League South & West Division side Abingdon Utd and Gloucester County League side Longlevens. At the time of writing one other fixture is also still to be confirmed.
