Minturn The Manager

The club is pleased to announce the appointment of 36 year old former player Andy Minturn as manager of the Cirencester Town Development team.

"Minno" as most know him has previously enjoyed playing spells with Cirencester in the past along with Bath City, Hungerford Town and more recently Highworth Town. He has now completed his FA Level Two coaching qualification and added to his playing experiences will be looking to start out on his managerial career.

Further good news is that Richard Pitt who has been the driving force behind the Development team over the past two seasons will assist Minno along with Richard Smith (ex Cirencester Utd Manager).

For the past two seasons there has been a good progression for the young team in terms of winning the Hellenic Reserve League Division Two in the first season and this past season finishing comfortably in mid table in the Hellenic Reserve Division One and getting to the league cup final. This season due to a restructure in the Hellenic League the team will now be playing in a higher level again in Hellenic League Division One West which will see the team compete against a number of first team sides which will be a good test for the young players.

Since the Development team was set up a number of the young players have also featured in the First Team squad and Andy and his management team will be looking to carry that philosophy on and use his past experiences to help develop the young players further.

Everybody at the club wishes Andy and the two Richard's all the very best for the coming season.
