Cambridge City Match Preview

Cirencester Town go into the last ten days of the Zamaretto Premier Division season with the long trip to high fliers Cambridge City. The hosts are currently sat in second place in the table and beat Cirencester at the Corinium stadium back at the end of October with a late goal from Craig Hammond sealing a close fought 2-1 win.
As is the case at this level Cambridge boast some real firepower up front with two strikers in the top three scorers in the league. Craig Hammond (pictured left) is top of the charts with 32 goals to his name and in third place David Kolodynski with 19 goals. They come into the game having won 5 and lost 1 of their last 6 league games and having scored 18 goals and conceded 6 goals.
Cirencester come into the game on a run of 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats and have found the net regularly with 12 goals in the last 3 games. One big loss from the squad will be Lyndon Tomkins (pictured right) who misses out having to serve a one match ban after his sending off at Hemel Hempstead. Manager Brian Hughes will have to shuffle things around at the back to compensate for the loss of Tomkins. Although on paper it will be a daunting task with the run Cambridge are on and the fact that they could still clinch the title from Truro or Salisbury one thing Hughes’s men have never been short on is a desire to work hard and upset the big teams in the league.
