Connor Joins England Schoolboy Elite
Academy midfielder, Connor Thompson, who recently made such an impression for the first team against Grays Athletic, coming on as a second half substitute to make his debut, has been selected for the England Schools U18 International squad for 2010/11.
An article from Danny Hall on the Wilts & Glos Standard's website confirms:
"CIRENCESTER Academy starlet Connor Thompson has capped a fine year by being selected for the final England Schools U18 International squad for 2010/11.
Thompson, a free-scoring winger, has helped the Academy, a joint initiative with Cirencester College, to top spot in their division of the English Colleges Premier Division.
The Academy side also had a good run in the FA Youth Cup until put out in the last round by League Two side Aldershot Town.
Thompson also captains the Wiltshire Schools team and on Saturday he came off the bench to make his debut for the Cirencester Town senior side in the FA Carlsberg Trophy game against former winners Grays Athletic...."
