Callum Mackinnon

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you all of the death of Callum Mackinnon who was killed on Tuesday in a car accident at the age of 18.

Callum was a Development Team player and managed by Richard Pitt, Dave Pyzer and Andy James. I have been with these men tonight and they are truly devastated as are all of Callum's team mates.

Callum was a terrific lad, well liked by all as well as a very talented footballer. He will be missed by everyone.

All of us at the club offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Andy James quoted: "Callum had joined us from Witney United and had completed a tough pre season taking part in most of our friendlies and Saturday's 1-0 win against Binfield. He was a big lad with a big smile and such a friendly lad who got on with everyone at the club. Callum had the potential to reach the First Team squad and worked hard in everything we did in the Development Squad. The boys and management are devastated by this horrific news and are meeting this week to discuss how and what we do to remember their friend Callum Mackinnon."

All of our teams, from the First Team, Development Team and our Junior teams will be holding a minute's silence prior to their next matches as a tribute to this fine young man who has been taken at such a young age.

Callum Mackinnon rest in peace
