Under 16's Beat Forest Green In Cup Final

The Under 16's won the League Cup Final played at Whaddon Road in glorious sunshine.

Town rode their luck on many occasions as Forest Green looked threatening when going forward, however, a determined Town defence played for their lives to record a close victory.

Charlie Buse gave Town the lead on 14 minutes with a superb shot from 20 yards into the bottom corner.

Ciren struggled to score that all important second goal that might have wrapped things up for them, and Forest then got themselves on level terms on 56 minutes with a close range effort.

Town had the perfect response to this setback with the winner two minutes later, when Luke Turfrey threaded the perfect ball through to Oliver Jones, who scored to give Town the Cup to take home.

Congratulations to the whole squad of 16 players, who all played their part.

The Man of the Match Award was given to Liam James.
