First Team Beat AFC Hayes To Consolidate Play Off Position
Our First Team beat AFC Hayes 3-1 on Tuesday evening to consolidate their position in the final Play Off place.
However, they did it the hard way coming back from 1-0 down with an hour to go, through a brace from Scott Griffin and a spectacular finish from Jody Bevan.
We are six points ahead of Frome Town who have two games left, with a significantly better goal difference than them of 22 goals. Frome are at home to Taunton Town this evening (Wednesday) and finish their season on Saturday at home to Gosport Borough. Our final league match is away at Thatcham Town on Saturday.
Therefore at this point, only an amazing series of scorelines will prevent us from reaching the Play Offs.
If we do indeed finish the season in fifth place, we will be playing away next week at either AFC Totton or Windsor & Eton, whoever fail to win the league title.
If we are playing at AFC Totton, then the Play Off match is likely to be on the evening of Tuesday 27th April. However, if we are playing at Windsor & Eton, the Play Off match is likely to be on Wednesday 28th April because they play their final league match on the Monday.
We will inform you of the definite dates, kick off times and Team Bus departure times as soon as possible.
