Development Team Win Again To Maintain Title Challenge

Our Development Team have won twice in three days this week to maintain their chances of winning the FT Futbol Hellenic League Reserve Division 2 West title. They currently lie in second place, one point behind Cricklade Town but with four games in hand. Cricklade only have one match left to play.

On Saturday, the Development Team won 2-1 at home to Shrivenham through goals from Kris Redford and Tom Willetts, and on Tuesday, they won 2-0 away at Clanfield when Conor Teague and Paul Banks were the scorers.

This Saturday 17th April, they are away at Easington Sports which is sure to another tough game, before playing at home to Letcombe on Thursday evening, 22nd April.

Letcombe are realistically the only threat left to stop the Development Team winning the title and today stand six points behind us with the same amount of five games left. To add spice to the end of the season, we have not played our away fixture at Letcombe yet, and it is scheduled for two days later, on Saturday 24th April.

Whatever the final games of the season bring, the Development Team's inaugural season has been a tremendous success, with both Ellis Dunton and Paul Banks making their First Team debuts and Ollie Pitt being an unplayed substitute at Wednesday's match at VT FC.

Come along and support the Development Team on Thursday 22nd April, as they go into the first of these two crucial matches against Letcombe, with the aim of winning the League Title and securing promotion to the FT Futbol Hellenic League Reserve Division One.

The match will be played on one of the outside pitches and kicks off at 6:30pm.
