2008-09 End Of Season Awards
At our End of Season Party and Presentation Evening held in the Marquee at The Corinium on Saturday, the following awards were presented:
Clubman of the Year
Awarded to Mark O'Brien
First Team:
First Team Manager, Brian Hughes, thanked Kevin Willetts, Tony Dunn, Eddie Leather, Kathie Chambers, Kevin Abbley and his partner, Claire, for all their hard work and support during the season before making the following presentations:
Players' Player of the Season - Russ Courtney
Manager's Player of the Season - Jamie Reid
Supporters' Player of the Season - Andy Minturn
Academy:
Academy Coach, Steve Lowndes, also thanked, Eddie Leather, Kathie Chambers and Kevin Abbley for their hard work and support, as well as thanking his assistant coach,Shaun Wimble, for all his efforts during another very successful season.
Steve and Shaun then went on to present the following awards:
First Year Awards:
Players' Player of the Season - Adam Corcoran
Manager's Player of the Season - Rob Hoskins
Second Year Awards:
Players' Player of the Season - James Guthrie
Manager's Player of the Season - Adam Miller
Top Scorer Award:
With a couple of games still left, the current standing is:
Rob Hoskins: 27 goals
Max Etheridge: 26 goals
Ladies Team:
The Ladies Team Manager, Helen Lewis, couldn't make it to the Presentation Evening so Martin Tuckwell, who is taking over the role next season, presented their awards.
Firstly Martin thanked Dave and Carolyn Watson from the Wheatsheaf Inn in Cirencester for sponsoring the team, and then also thanked Eddie, Kathie and Steve for their help and support during the season. He then went on to present the following awards:
Most Improved Player of the Season - Kerry Bennett
Manager's Player of the Season - Hayley Desborough
Players' Player of the Season - Caz Dowdeswell
Ladies Team captain, Caz Dowdeswell, then thanked Martin Tuckwell for his help and support during the season.
Boardroom Award:
Steve Abbley presented Brian Hughes with the Boardroom Award for the season in recognition of his hard work and the success he and his team have achieved after coming back to the club as first team manager in October.
Away Supporter of the Season:
Steve Abbley presented the Away Supporter of the Season Award to Darren Ritchings.
