Our Academy Win 2-0 At Bath City In FA Youth Cup

Last night, our Academy won 2-0 away at Bath City in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup.

Cirencester starting the game on the offensive and created a couple of scoring opportunities in the first 10 minutes. They continued to dominate the game and in the 20th minute, first year Rob Hoskin fired home to give Cirencester the lead. Bath defended resolutely to deny Cirencester from inceasing their lead before half time.

The second half mirrored the first with Cirencester attacking the Bath City goal. James Guthrie picked up the ball on the left and after beating two defenders set up Rob Hoskin to fire home. Bath then tried desperately to get back in to the game with  Cirencester having to defend an onslaught of long balls in to the box.

They will now be at home to ex Football League side, Torquay United, with our former coach, Paul Compton, at their helm, in the Third Qualifying Round which is scheduled to be played during week commencing 20th October 2008. We will post the exact date and time for this match on this website as soon as it has been agreed.
