First Team Dominate Against A Young Bristol City Side Only To Lose Out To Two Late Goals.

Our first team played their first home pre-season friendly yesterday against a young Bristol City side mainly made up of players from their Academy.

In the first half, Ciren were well on top, with Julian Alsop, upfront with Matt Williams, holding the ball up well and bringing other players into the game with thoughtful headers. Triallists, Steve Davies and Adam Heath, playing wide right and wide left respectively also showed up well, providing plenty of pace down the flanks. Our defence, well led by Gary Thorne also looked solid and we were unlucky not to go into half time in the lead.

In the second half, as is usual in pre-season friendlies, Adi and Oggy made several changes to the line-up which seemed to make us lose momentum and, Bristol City came back strongly towards the end, scoring a well worked goal with five minutes remaining. An unfortunate error, a couple of minutes later then led to their second goal and a flattering 2-0 win for the youngsters.

However, there were many positives for our management duo to take out of the game, as we move into the later stages of our pre-season programme.
